Today is an exciting but sad day. After 20 years as a stylist, it is time for me to take the next step in my career. I have spent many amazing years hearing about your lives, giving you a sounding board, sharing laughter and tears, some happy, some sad. It has been my privilege helping you prepare for graduation, new jobs, weddings, births and death. I have also been honoured with being able to watch your children grow up, being there through your best and worst times, and of course, helping you reach your hair goals. Along this journey, many of you were there for me during those times in my life too and I thank you.

The relationship between a hairstylist and client is unique. There is something about the chair that helps people open up and connect. I cherish you all and our time together, please know that this decision did not come lightly.

Friday, October 4, 2019, I will be my last day behind the chair. I will be taking a full-time role as a training and education manager for Henkel Canada. This new role will allow me to use my many years of experience to help shape the way we educate hairdressers. I have always had the goal of helping as many hairdressers as possible be better hairdressers and more recently helping educators be better educators. This job will provide an amazing opportunity allowing me to do that on a much higher level.

We have always known the day would come when I would have to step away from the chair. I never expected it to happen so soon or quickly. My wish was always to have told you all in person as you all deserve that. There is just not enough time (and Kleenex) for that. I would like to think of this, not as a goodbye, just a change in our relationship.

I have a few spots left in the next 2 weeks if you want to come see me before my last day. Please be patient with the front desk staff, they are sad I'm leaving too. Anyone with existing appointments after October 4th will be contacted to see if you would like to be moved to another stylist. I highly recommend Shawna or Stephen at Curious here, although everyone here is very talented. Stephen will be moving to the University City location once it opens this fall, so if you live further north he would be a great fit. For all my gentleman, I would also recommend Shaddy over on the Denim & Smith side.

In order to make this transition as easy as possible for you, I have added a couple of other stylist and their locations at the bottom to help you find a new hairstylist in other areas of the city.

This is not goodbye so please feel free to add me on social media. I would love to have a way to keep in touch with you.
